About Us
Hello. I want to introduce myself and tell you about my passions and the loves in my life. First and foremost, I want to give all of my praise to my Lord, Jesus Christ. None of this would be possible without Him. Second, with the physical and emotional help of my husband, children, family and friends, I continue to build a love for my job and all of my Velvet Angels. I am so fortunate, to spend my time working in a field that gives back love everyday!
I started breeding Golden Retrievers approximately 15 years ago. They are a beautiful breed, but, the day I saw a yellow male Labrador Retriever in a parking lot, I knew, this was 'my breed!' From that day on, I have raised over 18 Labradors.
During that time to the present, I have had many litters of pups and retired my older Labradors to awesome homes. I currently have 11 adults.
The name I have chosen for my kennel, VELVET ANGEL LABRADORS, was inspired by my very special, close family and friends, who went home to be with the Lord. As I continue to grow with my

Velvet Angels, they continue to hold a very special place in my heart. VELVET
(the coat of my dogs), ANGEL (the ones I lost and the Lord gained), and LABRADORS (my furry children).
Although, the Lab standard has only three colors in the Lab line, I have several colors. These range from YELLOW : very light, medium, and dark. RED: very light red, (some would call strawberry blonde), to very dark red. CHOCOLATE, BLACK, SILVER (diluted chocolate), and CHARCOAL (diluted black). These colors seem to upset some people in the "Lab Business." But after several years of researching such colors, I came to discover, these were indeed Labrador Retrievers. My first Silver stud, was purchased in Wisconsin from Mallard Lane Labradors. This breeder was highly recommended and very reputable. I was very impressed by the love she showed for her dogs and how well they were trained in the field and trial test during such controversy. Trent, my big 115 pound boy is exceptional!
One choice I made several years ago was NOT to have certifications on my dogs hips, elbows, eyes, ect. I DO give a HIP and HEALTH guarantee and will stand by my contract 100%.

I may not have my dogs in the "show ring" but, they are all "show quality" to me! They show me love, patience, and how to forgive! They are 100% dedicated to me! I also find myself very dedicated to my dogs and my puppies' families. I strive to do what is right. I am by no means the "perfect" breeder.
I am human. I love and spend quality time with all of my Velvet Angels. I only use two dogs for social, fun, hunting, but know, several of my dogs come from hunting backgrounds. |
God has truly blessed me with a wonderful family, great friends and fun loving dogs! Sorry, I am closed on Sundays with only a few exceptions.
